Ian McMurry created Balanced Inspections over a decade ago, serving the Portland Metro area. Balanced Inspections’ clients can be found in Gresham, Milwaukie, Oregon City, Clackamas, Sandy, Beaverton, Tigard and Hillsboro as well. During Ian’s experience as a contractor, he encountered all aspects of structures here in the Pacific Northwest. From single residence to multi-family homes; from post and beam construction to manufactured homes; from turn-of-the-century city homes to country homes; from brick and mortar commercial to new construction – Ian has worked on them ALL.

While fulfilling contractor needs to the local Portland network of Realtors, Ian implemented repairs in a timely, skillful and within-budget manner that helped to facilitate sales transactions and meet bank lending requirements for home buyers and sellers. This allowed an inside view on the inspection process – valued experience that now is an asset in judging potential hidden problems in the assessments that Balanced Inspections now performs.

Continuing education courses compliant with the Construction Contractors Board as well as the Oregon Department of Agriculture, allows Ian to provide up-to-date evaluation on the structures in this unique Pacific Northwest Area. Balanced Inspections will also create assessments of potential rot and insect infestations that are required by the lender for FHA and VA loan documents.
